The final project for our course will be either a 1) Weebly Webfolio or a 2) Google Folder with a cover letter addressed to me that includes the following components:
The final project for our course will be either a 1) Weebly Webfolio or a 2) Google Folder with a cover letter addressed to me that includes the following components:
- An assessment of how and where you met the course outcomes.
- Revised copies your work for the course, including the formal report and link to the revised group project (copies of the work for the course should be embedded using the "Document" feature in the left hand toolbar in Weebly which allows you to embed documents from your computer. They should be included in the Google Folder as final revisions, named appropriately and referenced in the cover letter by name, if you choose the Google option).
The final project for the course provides a time for you to reflect on what you have learned in the course and allow an opportunity to polish the final report and group project based on feedback from myself and colleagues in the course.
As a professional, you might be called on to prepare a set of documents for a performance review. This webfolio helps to prepare you for that possibility. This version of the webfolio will be slightly truncated as it focuses primarily on documents that you create for this class. In the work world, you might be asked to create a webfolio of all of your professional work in order to land a job or to document several years worth of work for a performance or promotion review.

Think About It
This version of the "Think About It" section is slightly different in that it lays out what I will be looking for in the webfolio in relation to each of the learning outcomes for the course. Please read this carefully to understand the parameters for this project.
Audience Awareness
The outcomes for Audience Awareness are:
1. Analyze and address audiences, purposes, and situations related to technical writing.
2. Communicate ethically with a variety of audiences.
For this element of the webfolio, you will need to demonstrate where in particular in the class you 1) identified particular audiences for your work and 2) completed work that demonstrated an understanding of audience. Thus, you have use concrete examples from the projects that you completed in this class to prove that you have met this learning outcome for the class. In other words, you cannot say, "I identified an audience for my report in project one and demonstrated an understanding of that audience by writing for that audience." You will need to identify who the audience is, how in particular you addressed that audience, and what elements you considered in preparing the particular report, website, etc. for that audience.
Collaboration
The outcomes for collaboration are:
3. Analyze and respond to the work of others in a professional context.
4. Engage in project planning and management through collaborative writing as a social aspect of technical communication.
We have collaborated at several points in the class: in the brainstorming for the formal report, in the peer reviews, and in the group project. For this outcome, point to places where you have collaborated successfully with your peers, again, using specific examples.
Information Literacy
The outcomes for Information Literacy are:
5. Conduct both primary and secondary research using online library databases and other resources.
6. Document sources appropriately.
To demonstrate your proficiency with this outcome, you will need to identify how you met both of the above outcomes. To do so, you will need to detail elements that might not readily be seen through your work in the course, such as your research process, where and how you located sources to use in your research, and how you worked to learn to document sources appropriately. Point to specific instances of where and how you met these outcomes.
Digital Literacy
The outcomes for Digital Literacy are:
7. Finding, evaluating, organizing, and presenting information using various delivery system.
8. Design appropriate professional communications in a variety of print and digital forms.
Again, you will want to identify how you were able to present information in a number of forms, including using word processing documents, Google, and Weebly to complete various projects. A portion of the score in this section will be based on how well you create the Webfolio itself. It should be well-edited, easy to read, use text and embedded documents appropriately, and have a navigation that is clear and easy to understand.
